Hi, I'm Clark, the shy, cautious dog living at the far end of the dog room in a quiet area. I like to watch everything and everybody from a bit of a distance. Until I get to trust you and then I'm happy to stand by your side. I just need time to warm up. I am a quiet, relaxed, handsome Foxhound or perhaps a Treeing Walker Coonhound. We coonhounds/foxhounds are just as loving and just as family-friendly as other hunting breed dogs you know of. If you like labs, pointers, weimeraners, and other large hunting breeds, look at coonhounds and foxhounds too. We are often overlooked which is sad. At the shelter, I get special time in the office and special time with staff and volunteers who are helping me learn how to overcome my fears. I like being petted and I like soft love talk. I love to play with other dogs. I love walks. Everybody really likes me. They tell me that one day that special someone will walk in and ask for me, Clark, the coonie. My new life will begin and I'll learn how to live in a home. I'll learn to climb stairs and lay on the couch. I'll hang out with you just a few steps away and hopefully I'll have a dog friend to spend time with too. It'll be heaven.
